Keeping Busy While Papa is Away...

We had a very fun filled week, despite Kenny being in PA. for the week. Monday, we went to visit my sister again. Lindsay, Rick's wife, and I packed up all the kids and headed to Aunt Shelly's house. We were able to go to the always entertaining pool/water park! All the cousins had so much fun, and it is great to get them all together because you can really see all their personalities.

Tuesday we headed to The Homeland Creamery, a dairy farm in Julian, NC. Here is a link to check out http://www.homelandcreamery.com/ . Jack was in HEAVEN, there were cows everywhere and even some Cocos. There were turkeys, chickens, sheep, and a baby cow that the kids got to see up close and personal. We headed off on a hayride and learned some history about the farm, and when we got back the kids were able to bottle feed the baby cow. Before we left they gave everyone a sample of their home made ice cream fresh from the dairy farm mmmmmm!!! Here are some pics

Wednesday, we went to see Big Bang Boom, a kids rock band. Jack loves seeing them!!! They usually perform once every couple weeks around town. This week Jack got on stage to sing with all the other kids. My little Rock Star!!!! Here is a link to their website http://www.chuckfolds.com/bigbangboom.html

Thursday we spent the day tie dying all Jack's stained t-shirts...He LOVES making a huge mess, but it is always fun.

So, that is how we stay busy when Papa is away!

Surprise,Surprise...

The Secret is finally over! I had been in talks with Clint for a few months now. He and Marissa wanted to come visit and surprise Kenny for his birthday weekend! Well, then their mutual friend Matt decided to come too, and not to be left out so dis Mike and Wendy. I almost slipped a few times, but I knew Kenny had no idea.

Clint and Marissa had to use plan B when their 2
nd leg of the flight got canceled. Mike, Wendy, and Matt arrived Saturday morning completely surprising Kenny, and all the while Clint and Marissa rented a car and drove 5 hours from D.C. Kenny was upstairs showering when they arrived at our house and got a second surprise when he saw them in the kitchen! He still has not stopped talking about. It was so much fun to see everyone and we seemed to cram a lot of good times in to just a few days!

Saturday we went to our local minor league baseball game , the Greensboro Grasshoppers, The
stadium is nice, the tickets are cheap, and there is always a chance of getting a fly ball...which by the way, Jack did ! Here are some of my favorite photos of the night...

Sunday we all we over to my Dad's house, and everyone got to meet Jack's obsession "Coco" , his name for all horses/donkeys/mules. Here are some pics

Monday, Kenny's Birthday, we went to Hanging Rock State Park. It is our
favorite place to go swimming. I was so great to go there on a Monday due to the lack of people. Jack made a friend and she taught him how to catch salamanders...Mike, Wendy, and Matt flew out Monday night. I know how happy Kenny was just to have everyone there for his birthday! Here are some photos from the lake...

Tuesday, we took Clint and Marissa to one of Jack's favorite places the bounce place. It is a warehouse filled with 4 of the biggest bounce house and the kids and sometimes parents can bounce and slide until
exhaustion, then we were off to another favorite place of Jack's the toy store. Uncle Clint and Aunt Marissa bought Jack A wooden barn filled with 12 horses "Cocos". We had just enough down time before we headed to Raleigh so they could catch their flight.

It was an Amazing weekend, one I know Kenny will never forget. Thanks So Much everyone for coming and Happy Birthday Kenny!

Oh, and when you least expect maybe we will surprise you!
I will try to post some videos soon, but I figured at the very least I should post some (a lot) of pics, hope you like...

A Weekend With The Cardillos...

We went to visit my sister and her husband, Steve, a few weekends ago in Apex, NC. It is only about 1 hour and 20 minutes from us, but long enough to make a weekend out of it.

We went there for a few reasons (I don't really need a reason to visit my sissy, but it seems like we have been so busy lately)
1. Jack loves playing with his cousin Griffin
2. Shell was having a small baby shower hosted by a few of her friends over there
3. Kenny and I wanted to go to a concert that was right down the street from where they live
4. Shell has been telling me all summer that her friend has a pool in her neighborhood that Jack will LOVE...boy, was she right :)

Here are some photos from the shower on Saturday

Proud Mama-to-Be

I had a mom in my sewing group make a labor/delivery hospital gown just for her.

Speaking of the sewing group since this is a blog techincally about Jack here is a photo at my sewing group of him helping me sew a taggie blanket for new baby Cardillo. Sorry about the watermelon juice.

After the baby shower we went to pool or should I say waterpark...

Wow...I did not even get pictures of the Big pool!

Sunday, we went to Pullen Park in Raleigh. It a an old city park that has an original carousel from 1912, a small train, and a kid size boat ride. The boys loved it!
